Family Herd
Privacy
Family Herd is a farm notebook for cattle and other stock, land, health, receipts, and 4-H records. The same book opens on iPhone and at familyherd.com after you sign in on the iPhone or join with a farm code.
Account. Sign-in is email and a password you choose. You may add a name. We keep that so you can sign in, reset a password, and share a farm. We do not sell accounts.
App Store. Family Herd is a paid iPhone app. Apple takes the payment when you buy the app. There is no in-app purchase. Sign in on the iPhone to start a farm. Join with a farm code stays free.
The book. Herd, land, receipts, photos, and notes live with the farm so everyone on the code sees the same pages. Treat that code like a shop key.
Photos and location. Pictures are only added when you take, pick, or scan one. Scan slip uses Apple’s paper scanner for feed slips and invoices. The app does not save photos back to your library. The map uses the pin you set. My location is a one-time jump — we do not track you. Weather and map tiles use that pin, not your name.
Face ID. Unlock on this iPhone stays on the phone. It is not sent to us or to Apple as farm data.
Voice type. The microphone is used only when you tap the mic on a text box. Speech becomes the words in that box. We do not keep a recording. You can still type, or use the microphone on the iPhone keyboard.
4-H. If you mark an animal as a project, we store the member name, club, weights, and expenses the farm family types in. Family Herd is a farm book for adults who keep those records — not a children’s app, and not in the Kids Category.
What we don’t do. No ads. No selling farm data. No tracking across other apps.
Delete. Settings → Delete my account removes your login. If you are the last person on the farm, the book is deleted too.
